Is it true that certain sororities have alumni members who chose their pledge classes? I heard alumni heavily influence Chi O, KD, DDD, and DG. Any others?

These chapters have the most tradition at Ole Miss and therefor a lot of alums that are still in MS and very active in the chapters. Since the are the money behind everything, they do get a say. They don't hand pick every single girl, but if you are from their hometown they already made or break if you are getting a bid from their sorority. There a plenty of girls that go through without connections that receive bids to these groups, but more of their spots are taken up with hometown girls and legacies than the other sororities, which is why its more difficult to for OOS/no connection girls to get bids to the Ole Miss Top 4. That's why these are considered the most competitive, because they have fewer spots.

That was the perfect reply. Like the person above said, it's not a set list of a final PC which seems to be the rumor (it IS mutual selection so those PNMs may not even choose that house), but more like if you are from the hometown of any alums/girls in the chapter they pretty much already know if they won't take you, will keep you and see how you stack up against other girls, or will for sure offer you a bid if you go all the way through pref. Of course, there are TONS of girls that come through without these ties and are decided on during rush. But like the poster above said, that's why these are more competitive.

Yes this is very true and it's not only at Ole Miss. DDD and KD at Alabama are the same way.
