house renovations???
by: pnm1888So I have been following all of the sororities on social media and I noticed KKG and KD are both getting new houses. I LOVEEE kappas blueprint (KD just looks like a smaller copied version for those of you who haven't seen), but if I am going through rush in the fall, when would these houses be completed? I dont want to be houseless until like my junior year... does anyone have any insight/thoughts on this? It is an important factor to me in rush. Thanks!!

When I made the comment about Kappa renting Theta’s house, I actually knew what I was talking about...Theta DOES own the house and any money coming in will, as poster #13 said, go towards paying off their house balance.
You need to do your homework, honey, before you post about something you obviously know nothing about.

So now we get to what this is really about. Sorority bashing, in this case Kappa. PNMs will understand that it’s temporary. And if they don’t, who cares?
Lots of sororities have stayed in temporary housing during remodeling or building.
Can’t we be decent to everybody with rush coming up? The number of PNMs is down anyway. They don’t need to read even more negativity.

Yes, Theta owns our house. The University owns only the land, which was part of the problem with our house.
Most of us have no hard feelings about another sorority leasing our former home. The rent paid will help us pay off the balance on the house. It hurts a little less to see another sorority there than seeing it torn down. Who knows.... AXO may also look at leasing it after Kappa moves out, until they can build. Not a problem. We loved our life there and our home will always be in our hearts. No need to make something out of this.

Wait? Now I’m confused. Do the Greek chapters on the Old Miss campus not own their own houses? They’re the ones who are forking over the cash to build or remodel.
So Theta National doesn’t own that house?
