recruitment tips
by: Freshman MomMy daughter is going through recruitment this fall. I’ve never had a daughter go through recruitment at Ole Miss. Does anybody have any unique or different tips to offer? Just little things to help girls get through the week? Specific things to wear?

Mints between rounds, humidity hairspray (it’s a hot and humid week), a compact with powder and a small brush
For conversation tips. All of the girls in sororities will ask her questions so make sure she asks questions back. It will show she’s interested and engaged in her conversation. Have some questions prepared.
Be genuine if she really likes a sororities philanthropy make sure she brings it up. If she’s passionate about certain things make sure she expresses those passions so the houses can get to know her.
Just tell her to be herself and support your daughter through the week. It can be a really stressful week for PNMs so be there for her in any way possible :)) sending her luck!!

Tell her to keep an open mind. All our sororities are strong and offer a great experience. Don’t listen to “tent talk”. Just because one PNM doesn’t like a house doesn’t mean it won’t be a perfect fit for another PNM .

Also just wanted to add a few more things to my original post. Tell her to never gossip to anyone about any sorority before rush. Never talk about what house she wants to be in before rush and really maximize he options by having an open mind.
It is ok to go out to the bars on the Square before rush but don’t embarrass herself by getting too drunk or anything like that. Just be classy but have fun!
