Good question, but don't worry about it because there's nothing you can do about it and you should just keep an open mind and accept where you are invited for each round. Nobody knows those numbers yet and it will not be available to pnm's. We are still using variable quota to work toward more balanced membership sizes, which means that larger houses will take fewer pnm's than the smaller houses. There are lots of variables that go into determining the final quotas for each house. It will depend on how many pnm's are going through this year, how many attend prefs, current chapter totals, and past recruitment statistics for each chapter plus the fact that there is one less sorority this year. So those final numbers are determined during recruitment and only the individual chapters know what their own numbers are and usually not everyone in the chapter knows them, just the recruitment committee. If trends continue the same with more pnm's going through each year and with one less sorority, then the numbers will be higher across the board this year for each house.

As a member of one of those three sororities you listed I can say that just isn’t true. Each year, after every round we have to cut girls we would have loved to keep just due to numbers. This year we will have a slighty (and just slight) higher number of girls we can keep after each round. This is good for everyone because we get to know the girls better in more rounds and they get to know us better. With Alpha Chi Omega coming onto campus in 2020 the number will then start to go back.

@ummm - no, you're wrong... has a valid point. Because we lost Theta there will be PNMs who would normally pledge a mid tier house getting bids to a top tier house. The top three houses will still be fighting over the top PNMs but they will be forced into taking girls they normally wouldn't pledge so they can fill their quota. Top tier has not been used to a high quota lately and has been able to be more selective.
Yes, the top tiers have always had to make cuts and it's been painful at times and they will also have to make some cuts this year too but they wont be as deep.

Due to Theta leaving - Ole Miss will NOT be participating in variable quota!! The top three houses, KD, DDD, and XO will all be taking girls that they normally wouldn't take because the quota of all houses is going to be basically equal and actually going to also be high! This is going to be the WORST rush year for every house. Prepare yourselves.
