legacy

I’m going to school at OM this fall, and I’m a triple legacy. I have an in house sister at another sec school, and my mom and grandmother are really involved in the chapter and the alumni group in my city. It’s not that I don’t want to be in my legacy house. I may fall in love with it and it might be the place fore me, but I still want to be able to make my own decisions. Is that crazy? Will other houses release me right after the first round? A friend told me that being a legacy can sometimes hurt you instead of help you. Is that true? I just want to prepare myself if getting released by lots of houses at once is a possibility. Thanks!
