Which sororities have the highest numbers of in-state members and legacies?

KD, DDD, PM, DG, have the most, then and KKG, AOPi. Next would be Pi Phi and XO; Pi Phi has been here since the 60's and even though XO is much older on campus they don't count grands as legacies, only mom and sister, so that limits the number of actual legacies but they have tons of in-state girls. Legacy is a national thing, not a chapter-specific thing, so there are non-Ole Miss legacies too for every sorority, but they won't be connected like Ole Miss legacies are. There's your answer but none of it really matters because legacies get cut just like everyone else.

Maybe, but COME ON....Chi O is famous for their alums sitting in the kitchen after each round of rush and “fixing” the chapter’s invite list to make sure legacies are included.
Those Southern Moms, sisters and grannies STILL have powerful influence, especially in the Deep South. National legacy policies aren’t necessarily the law in every chapter.

Everybody here knows that Chi O is “inbred” as are KD and DDD.

Being a legacy is more scary and can hurt more than help - other houses may automatically dismiss you or not give you a serious look because they think you may go your legacy house.

Your legacy house may not keep you because they want to open their numbers to non-legacy girls. Then those non-legacy girls go to a different house and your legacy house wishes they didn't release you.

Being a legacy is NOT all is cracked up to be... I know plenty of girls who do not list their legacy status on resumes given to competing houses.

And it can also hurt a PNM in that some girls get fixated on their legacy house and then ignore other houses that might be a better fit. Then they get released from their legacy house and also by the other houses they 'ignored' at parties and find themselves with few options by the end.

Legacies, keep that to yourself except for your legacy house. And consider every single house here. It could be great to be a 'sister' to your mom/sister/grandmother, but only if it's a true fit. Don't let family pressure get to you. I've seen girls pledge their legacy house only to later regret it!

I agree with @Scary. I had multiple different resumes and only listed my Greek affiliations on my resume that corresponded to the house my rec was going to. Otherwise that legacy crap can bite you in a real bad way. I wouldn't be boasting legacy status if I were you!

From yes! above: "It could be great to be a 'sister' to your mom/sister/grandmother, but only if it's a true fit. Don't let family pressure get to you. I've seen girls pledge their legacy house only to later regret it!"

No truer words spoken. I watched my roommate struggle with her family over her legacy house. She was a 5 time ole miss legacy to a 'top house' and liked the house, BUT she liked another top house better. She was intimidated by her family to pledge like her grandmother, mother, aunts, and sister. She did eventually pledge her legacy house but struggled our freshman year. She also grew to love the house she pledged and is definitely thriving there BUT she still tells me in confidence that she often wishes she pledged the other house.

Me, on the other hand, pledged my legacy house and it was and has continued to be the absolute perfect fit for me. Just be TRUE to yourself. College is hard, especially freshman year (don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise - they lie) and the social scene can be alienating even if you're incredibly popular and involved so choose a sisterhood that is right for you and ONLY you.
