rush recommendations

I've heard that for some sororities you have to have a rec to even be considered for it. I've gotten a majority of my recommendations done but I was wondering if there was any sororities that you can still be considered for without a rec?

I heard that you didn't need recs for AOPi. I've also heard that they take girls from all states and have a great sisterhood. There is no AOPi chapter in my home state, so I hope the rumor is correct.

If you want a chance at getting a bid to ANY of the NPC sororities, you absolutely, positively, without exception must have 1 (better to have 2-3) recommendations. This applies to all chapters at Ole Miss. It does not matter one bit that there is no AOPi chapter in your state. There are still alumnae living there. Find them. Not having a recommendation is an easy way for a chapter to cut you when they have to reduce invitations.
