So how many girls are typically in a pledge class here? Is it going to increase this year?

It's variable quota. It depends on your retaining factor. The top three retaining houses last year were tri delt, KD and chi o. They took around 110.... the next three were dg, KKG, and phi mu and they took around 130. Pi Phi and aopi were around 150 and adipi, Theta and aphi were between 175-200.

The retention rates aren't out yet for this year and we have no idea how many girls will still be in recruitment by pref night. That will determine pledge class sizes.

It will depend on how many PNMs registered for recruitment, how many active members returned Fall 2017, and how many PNMs continue recruitment to bid day.

Last fall formal recruitment was the first time variable quota was used and different sororities had different recruitment quotas. KD, DDD, and Chi-O each had beginning quotas of 100 and DDD recruited 108; KD recruited 107; Chi-O recruited 106.

DG, Kappa, Phi Mu, Pi Phi and AOPi had quotas of 120 to 130 depending on their beginning numbers. DG recruited 130; Kappa recruited 129; Phi Mu recruited 130; Pi Phi recruited 144 and AOPi recruited 137.

Alpha Phi, ADPi and Theta had quotas of 160. Alpha Phi recruited 184; ADPi recruited 177 and Theta recruited 140.

The quota numbers changed as the week progressed and most sorority's quotas were increased, some more than others.

At this point the 2017 quota numbers will probably have KD, DDD and Chi-O with 100 or less. AOPi, DG, Phi Mu,and Pi Phi should have around 120 to 130 again. Kappa and ADPi will probably have around 160, and Alpha Phi and Theta could have a quota of over 180.

Quotas won't be set until the week of recruitment and those numbers will change during the week.

okay so then here's the official ranking:
XO- 106
KD- 107
DDD- 108
Kappa- 129
DG/Phi Mu- 130
AOPI- 137
Theta- 140
Pi Phi- 144
ADPI- 177
Alpha Phi- 184

the only curve ball is Theta.. they should be last and had a lower quota bc nobody wanted them- they were supposed to take around the same as alpha phi and adpi.
also I think pi phi is better than aopi personality wise.

but this is legit the ranking

The purpose of variable quota is to even out the numbers. Quotas of 180 are not ideal. Ole Miss really needs to add at least two new sororities to bring the numbers down to manageable numbers for everyone. Unfortunately we do have to deal with the handful of people like 'so' who give the impression that Ole Miss is a toxic place for sororities. Sadly, 'so' probably isn't even a student here but is a Mom who just can't give up her mean girl ways. Also her personal opinion is pretty much garbage. PERSONALLY I wish the best for all our sororities. We have one of the strongest sorority systems of all the universities in the country. The quality of students is amazing in every single sorority. That is something we can be proud of.
