Oh please. You know this will turn into a snarky, toxic thread within minutes. Stereotypes are kind of High Schoolish anyway. Ole Miss Sororities are currently just too big to judge a sorority based on old stereotypes - but that's not going to them from coming.

I agree that sororities are too large to have one specific type but I would say that the overall majority of the girls tend to fit into the "stereotype".

Chi O- usually legacies from Jackson or Memphis. They tend to be more low key and hipster ish. Very southern and sweet.
KD- lots of girls from Mississippi and surrounding southern states. Known for great grades, taking lots of cheerleaders, pretty girls and being competitive on campus.
Tri Delt- has a reputation of only taking snobby rich girls but I know some very nice girls. They tend to take mostly legacies and pull from Jackson and Memphis.
AOPi- very nice, chill girls. Mostly out of state and a lot of midwestern girls. Tend to be more low key and keep to themselves.
Kappa- has a reputation of being wild and crazy but I know some super chill girls as well. Takes a lot of Texas girls as it's a popular sorority in Texas. Lots of pnms really enjoy going to their parties.
Pi phi- another big Texas sorority but they tend to have more of a variety of girls from all over. Pretty house and has very nice and cute girls.
Phi mu- known for having southern beauty queens but also takes a lot of out of state girls. Tends to be very active on campus and has very sweet girls.
Theta- has a reputation of being the house that no one wants. Usually northern girls with no connections. However girls who go there absolutely love it and have a great sisterhood. If more girls would give theta a chance it would definitely grow.

Adpi- usually out of state girls with no connections and grade risks. Beautiful new house and has grown a lot since it came to campus in 2013. Has a large variety of girls from all different places.
Alpha phi- our newest sorority and newly finished house. Has a lot of pretty girls and really got a great pledge class last year. Tends to take a lot of out of state girls who didn't have connections elsewhere or had a not so great reputation.
Delta gamma- new renovations on house are gorgeous. Known for being the alpha chapter and has a lot of history at Ole Miss. takes girls with great grades, can be very competitve and does well in competitions.

Also, you are probably looking at these to see which bests fits your personality but I promise that you'll end up where you belong. I came into rush really wanting to be a kappa because my cousin was a kappa at another school and thought kappa was the best sorority for me. However, once I was on campus i knew that kappa wasn't my place. There was nothing wrong with kappa (it's a great house), it just wasn't the right fit for me. I can honestly say that my sorority is the perfect place for me and I didn't even realize it until I went through the process and met a lot of actives.

KD doesn't have a bunch of cheerleaders. That information is incorrect

"I promise you'll end up where you belong."
Not really true bc of variable quota.
But if you give every house a chance you'll get to know several houses and accept that even if you don't get your top choice you can be happy.
I speak from experience!

Variable Quota has nothing to do with ending up where you belong. Variable quota just means some houses will take just a few more girls than others. in 2016 every single chapter took over 100 women so your statement is not accurate

I think this is one of those alums who is still stalking Greekrank. Nothing new here - just the same stereotypes from the past 20 years (with the addition of ADPi and Alpha Phi) Like the poster somewhere above said, Ole Miss sororities are just getting too big to fit into a stereotype.
