the truth about rush

by: FormerRebel

From a former Greek life member at Ole Miss, here is the truth about recruitment. Please don't take this as bitter, I am far removed from this now but I wanted to give girls looking for information the honest truth concerning my experience.
Your looks and connections are more important than anything else.
If you aren't pretty, don't get your hopes up. Honestly - I was overweight when I attended ole miss and rushed and was cut from houses faster than you would believe, even though I believe I was otherwise good looking. I only had 3 houses by sisterhood and prefed one. I looked good on paper - I scored a 32 on the ACT, 3.5 High School GPA and extracurriculars multiple pages long.
Truthfully? The houses don't care about you as a person and your accomplishments, or what your personality could bring to the house. They care about what you look like in their letters.

You could have discovered the cure for cancer, but you'll get cut from the so called "top" houses if you don't have connections.

The "top" houses don't care about how accomplished you are or how much you did in high school. They care about who you know.
