rushing as a latina
by: ?I'm rushing in the Fall. I'm out of state and Hispanic and I don't really know a lot of people in sororities at Ole Miss. I do have recs though. Are much options going to be limited?

You will be like those of us out of state students without connections. I ended up in a middle tier sorority and I am very happy. Most of my sisters are out of state students. Good recs will help, as will good grades and high school involvement. I wouldn't count on the Mississippi/Memphis upper tiers, but you should find yourself in a Sorority you will enjoy. The main think is being a part of a sisterhood with people you feel comfortable with.

I am a Latina currently in a middle tier sorority at Ole Miss! I love my sisters and they have truly accepted me for who I am!!! I would definitely encourage you to rush and meet all of the wonderful girls that are going to be in your gamma chi group and in your new pledge class!!! GO GREEK

She would probably like the bottom tiers better than the top tiers anyway. The top tiers are just the 13th grade of a few Mississippi/Memphis high schools. Middle and Bottom Tiers are where the real College students are.
