ole miss has serious issues
by: WthThis school is absolutely ridiculous. The girls here are so vain and image conscious. They don't do anything but post pictures of themselves. This is not a place for anyone with any intelligence or drive in life. It's truly sad and I can't believe people choose to go here. Seriously, do something meaningful instead of selfies. It's embarrassing for the South. Another thing, don't just post Bible verses on your insta profile, live those verses. Let's be real and not just a perfectly edited image

the thing is this small area (Mississippi, Memphis, Arkansas) has no insta famous girls.
Every other area/big school has insta famous girls 50k, 100k+ followers, and that easily shuts up 90% of the other girls. most girls are too embarrassed to post if you have another girl in your school with 100k+, because you just can't compare to it.
what does this school have? chad's ex aka fake follower KD and upcoming sophomore cheerleader DG with cake face makeup that likes every single insta post, both with 10k, both a joke.

that's part of it, the main thing is every sorority has an informal written contract to like every other girls in their house pics.\n\n\n\n\nso of course girls are going to post hella lot when they know they'll have 200-300 likes automatically from every other girl in their sorority. but let's not burst their bubble and state the obvious ya'll just liking each others pics so noone of ya'll look like complete loosers
oh, and since insta started doing the smart comments that displays only the best comments, it's obvious when your friends comment multiple times, especially when you look at a pic and it has 3 comments by the same girl, OPPS!

2) Know 1 or 2 bible verses to over use on all social media (so the neighbors don't talk)
3) Fake pray for people "I'm prayin 4 yawwwl" because every thing is prayer worthy Snowflake 1 - "I can't find a parkin place yawwwl" Snowflake 2 - "I'm praying 4 yawwwl" \n\n\n\n\n

It's obvious that the OP and initial responders are insecure and feel poorly about themselves & their sorority. IF you were really happy with who you really are you wouldn't give two shakes about the rest of this....

I would bet that the writer of the above statement is an intelligent individual with a super drive but hasn't gotten noticed or has received a less than positive response to recent efforts and then notices that seemingly attractive and less intelligent sorority girls are getting what they want with little effort. Which can seem unfair BUT the truth is WHY DO YOU CARE?? Don't worry about what you consider to be immature and insecure about others when in reality you are just projecting....
I honestly don't mean this to be harsh or rude, but it is a truth that we all must face at one time in our life and now is yours... Just be you, be the best you can be-you will not be any better or worse by pointing out or highlighting negative aspects of others.
You don't need to make sure everyone around you knows how bad XYZ is-they'll see for themselves-good, bad, or indifferent. And in seeing things for themselves they'll also see genuine, good hearted, hard working people just being happy with their own life!

Really? Who? and What are they getting?
Lot of people are jealous of Kim K, I don't look up to her a role model or admire her, but I do give her props, she's making bank, living a great life.
Who are we suppose to be jealous of? the KD with 10k fakes? or the chio with 30(?)k fakes?
Get real, no one here is insta famous.
If you have 50k-100k and you're pics get tons of likes, hey, that's great for you. But no one here is like that. The only ones with real followers have like 12k (brunette DG) and she has 12k bc she literally lives on instagram and likes everyone's pics. Rest of the girls with 5k+, have 5k+ because well she's following 1,000+ herself, and sits on instagram and likes 100s of pics daily, so they return the "favor".

The OP did not start about insta followers that was mentioned in a post response. AGAIN, WHY DO YOU CARE??? Because you are jealous. You may not want to purchase followers and think it's lame but you can't stand that someone else has them and want to point out how they go them.
Stay in your own lane and worry about yourself!!

girls who buy followers are insecure and need attention. sad that they are like that. that's why they have bad reputatiions because it's usually negative attention in everyone else's eyes.

To the OP: You seriously need to widen your circle of friends. The girls I know here at Ole Miss are smart, driven, and involved on campus. Most of my friends are in a Sorority, multiple Honor Societies, volunteer in the community, and raise money for different organizations. Some are involved in different student government organizations and some have participated in some very time consuming extra curricular University competitions and/or department projects. Most of my friends don't spend a lot of time worrying about who has the most Instagram followers, although we do occasionally marvel at the spectacle of it. If it bothered me as much as it seems to bother you, I think I would quit looking.

if you were actually smart, driven, involved on campus blah blah blah..... you wouldn't be on instagram.
go to harvard/yale, ask how many of them are on instagram (probably less than 20%), ask how many of them have 1k followers (probably less than 1%).
famous people, whether athletes or singers or actors are on instagram business they are a business and have theirselves to sell.
i mean idc if you post pics from formal or any thing like that, but what's the point of a selfie a week? you aren't losing weight and taking progress pics, you simply need an ego boost and know your sorority as an unwritten rule that you have to like everyone's pics.
any of ya'll notice these girls insta's over the summer? basically will be dead or a month or two and when they finally go on vacation, blam 15 pics posted in 2 weeks to show how rich they are by going to the beach lol.

in most parts of the countries, social media is looked down upon.
facebook was cool at first with the posts, but soon got to a spending hours stalking looking at buzzfeed etc.
instagram is nothing but insecure people posting their lifes through filters so they appear better than what they are. if they hide follower counts and if they got rid of likes, they'd probably have about 10 accounts active

Dear LOL (who is also 'that'): You need help. Quit worrying about what's going on on Instagram. If someone wants to post every move they make on Instagram that's their life - not yours. Are they insecure? Probably. But so are you.

It's not only DDD & KD. What about the XO with 16,500 paid followers! She has more than double the others. It's sad when you have to pay people to like your posts & pretend you're somebody special. LOL
