should i rush?

by: Transfer

I'm transferring to Ole Miss next fall from a community college and was wondering if it will be that hard to get a bid coming this late into the game? I have no issue getting letters of rec but I wasn't really an active member of many clubs in high school and I don't come from money (not saying that you have to come from money). I just really think I'd do well in a sorority and would like to have a sisterhood like that. Is there anything I should do? Should I just not rush at all? I can deal with rejection, but it doesn't make it any less hard. Thanks!

What are your grades like? They need to be really, really exceptional to get a bid as a junior... like 3.5+

Honestly you're best bet would be aphi or theta bc the other houses are already so competitive it might be tough

It will be hard competing with so many freshmen, but you'll never know if you don't try. Alpha Phi and ADPi are fairly new and building their chapters so they might be open to pledging a junior. Theta draws a diverse sisterhood in general so perhaps they would too. And there are exceptions for every house.

I hope you'll try and wish you luck finding a home.

I think you should certainly try it out - Greek life is super fun here but you can also be very happy and successful without it...
Best of luck!!
