african americans & the rush process

by:

so, lets be honest here. 98% of african americans joined a soro or frat outside that is NPHC. i am black and a female and i am really interested in joining a PHC soro.. mostly like KD (love the girls here, lol) ,DG, or alpha phi this coming fall semester so does KD give or any of the other soro willingly to give bids to girls or is there not too much diversity when it comes to this subject? I just wanted to know because i have been judged for expressing interest into joining a PHC sorority... Also is it a REQUIREMENT to know someone in the house to get you in ?
Thanks for all your help!

you need letters to get into a house.

some blacks get picked but honestly they are mostly charity cases. "oh look at us, we aren't raciest, etc.".

I think the bigger question isn't will you get picked, it's do you even want to be picked?

for starters, sororitys discriminate against white girls if they are out of state or northern.
that should answer your question of whether you'll fit in or not

I know a girl in another sorority. She has some good friends in her house, I don't think anyone hates her, but obviously there a lot of girls there that just ignore her or act like she isn't in the house.

Probably the worst isn't the white girls, it's from her black friends who see her as a traitor and say things like why are you with them white people etc.

I think she's happy with her sorority, but obviously it isn't for everyone and to be honest, it's for a very very very few would actually benefit from it
