It helps to have connections to the Sororities, especially if you are looking at a particular Sorority (best advice is don't go in looking at a particular Sorority). For some of the sororities connection is everything, if they don't know you or knows someone you knows you, you probably aren't going to get in. This is more true of the 'Mississippi/Memphis' sororities. Be yourself, unless being yourself means being sloppy drunk. Each sorority is looking for girls that will represent their sorority to the community and none of them want to be represented poorly.

When girls sell their dorm stuff in the Facebook groups.... most of those girls are in sororities. Become friendly and ask good questions about spring parties and rush. My roomate and I bought stuff from girls in Chi o, kappa, and DG.... we had great conversations and those girls followed us on social media and so did their sisters. When we came up for spring parties we met tons of people who introduced us to their sisters in two other groups.... it's not hard, just be friendly and start putting in the work!

I'm an active and I get on this site from time to time because winter break is entirely too long lol. Some people on here will tell you not to reach out to actives but honestly if you talk to Freshmen girls this semester they're not going to think it weird that you reach out to them because they're so excited about rushing girls for the first time. My freshman year I met a lot of active girls at the Levee and the Corner before rush which are both really freshman/sophomore bars. I Know they say you're not supposed to drink before rush but if you go out and be smart it can actually help you more than hurt you. Like one girl I met when we were both out at a house party before rush and she ended up being the girl who picked me up on sisterhood day

if u don't already know people ur screwed... unless u wanna go aphi or theta

Work as hard as you can to make connections, be yourself but don't be a sloppy drunk or else rush won't go well
