what do sororities look for?

Looks, grades, connection, & reputation. You'll be safe for most houses with at least a 3.3 GPA. By reputation I mean that you'll probably get dirty rushed by at least one sorority before school starts and you want to make sure they like you because even if they don't rush you they might tell their friends about you, and a lot of girls got theirselves black listed from the top 6 houses by going out and being too sloppy before rush. For connection you will need strong refs for the top 6 houses and at least some refs for Pi Phi, Aopi, and adpi. I know a few OOS girls who went alpha phi or theta with no recs but there's no promise that you won't need them this year so I would get them just in case.

Connections is the first thing. Start looking for people to write letters of recommendations and if possible look for Ole Miss connections to the Sororities. Looks and reputation are probably the 2nd deciding factors. Grades come after that, but they are the easiest way to cut a girl if the Sorority is not interested. Make sure you get recommendations for all the Sororities.
