Why did ole miss do rush at the beginning of the fall semester this year instead of at the beginning of the spring semester, like last year?

Ole Miss has never held formal rush at the beginning of Spring semester. Formal recruitment (all houses) is done in the Fall, informal recruitment is done by a few chapters in the Spring. Maybe you are thinking of some other school....

I was confused. I guess they did rush in October, not spring. Why do y'all do rush in October anyways though? Why not the beginning of the year like everyone else? Also, do y'all do it during school or something?

Reasons for late rush... you can get to know people without identifying them with labels, you can meet sorority girls, you can pay tuition before you are devestated by rush and try to transfer.

Used to do rush at the beginning of the year but girls who didn't get the sorority they wanted would immediately drop out of school and leave in droves. That still happens somewhat too, but not as much now that classes have started and tuition has been paid. So embarrassing for us. No other schools have to do it that way.

Didn't State have a bunch of girls leave because of variable quota this fall?

Because if a girl doesn't get what she wants she would pack her bags and head home. Some still do and it is really silly.
