Do legacies get cut because of GPA???? Help!!

Yes! Here are the cold facts...most houses have more legacies going through than they can take. No one really wants a house full of legacies, it will help you maybe stay a round or so, but it wont keep you there. Of course this is Ole Miss, so if you are an in-house legacy we might consider you and look closer...but just because your mom was an XYZ at some other university we are not going gaga over you. Grades are an easy cut to make first round, so if we don't know you we are cutting you.

Your GPA is important to all the Sororities. However, as a Legacy you will be given a second look regardless. Some of the Sororities will take a lower GPA Legacy over a higher GPA legacy with the same or even better qualification because, as the above post said, they know you. You have to consider though, if a Sorority is only wanting people they know you might be looking at the 13th grade of a Mississippi High School. Nothing wrong with that - if that is what you are looking for. Many students (especially out of state students) are looking to step out of their comfort zone and meet new and different types of people. Just go in with an open mind and don't limit yourself to a Legacy. (Also ALWAYS work on your getting/keeping your grades up)

Yes. It's am automatic cut for every house. Too many girls to pick grade risks.

^it depends on who you are, what your like and if you'll have someone at bat for you. At ole miss it's a lot about connections
