rush 2016
by: LOVE!
Questions and need honest answers.
1. If you were a legacy did you get your house or get dropped.
2. How many houses did you go from the start. IE: 11 to 8 to 5 to 2 at pref
3. Are you happy with the whole process of the new variable quota or feel great girls got the screwed...
I heard horror stories about rush this past fall.

I preffed both of my legacy houses and got the one I put first, so no I didn't get cut by them. I knew going into rush I was very interested in those 2 specifically so I was very relieved they didn't!
I had a full schedule every round but I did have some cuts.
After the first round I got cut from 1 "top" tier (expected), 1 "middle" tier (blindsided and unexpected -- I liked them and thought I would keep them a while), and 1 "upper bottom" tier (I was a little surprised here but never really saw myself here so it's okay). All 3 of the houses I ranked in the bottom came back up, but I was fine with giving them another chance because none of them were bad experiences.
After the second round I got cut by 1 top tier (I figured this would happen, but with the way they treated me at philanthropy I was a little surprised), and the another middle tier (I didn't really fit in here so I wasn't too upset). 2 of my 3 bottom ranked houses came back up, which was fine.
No one cut me the rest of the time and I got what I put first (it was a very hard decision deciding between legacy houses -- I absolutely adored both). I was very happy with my rush and while I do wish I had had a chance to get to know the houses I got cut from better, it all worked out!! Variable quota was absolutely brutal for a lot of girls and I'm lucky my rush wasn't awful. I'm not really sure if I like variable quota or not because it did screw a lot of people over but it seemed to help some houses so idk

I was a double legacy. I was invited back until pref night then dropped.
I was invited to four houses the previous night. My top 2 cut me and was left with 1 mid tier and 1 lower tier. I pledged one of them, and I love it. But I would be completely lying if I didn't tell you it still hurts.
I had dreamed of being a member of this house my whole life and I often find myself comparing my house to them unfairly.
Variable quota was brutal and I am one of the ones who was shocked and hurt. I keep believing God had a better plan for me.

I was a DG and Pi Phi legacy and took them all the way to pref.
First round I was cut by many upper tier and two middle tier. I was a but suprised by one of those.
Sisterhood I had DG, Pi Phi, Chi-O, AOpi and Alpha Phi.
I knew Chi I was a long shot because I knew none of them and am from the west coast. They cut me after sisterhood.

My sorority nationals don't allow us to cut legacies if they make it to preference. Legacies go to the top of the bid list to ensure they are ranked high enough to get us absolutely if they put us 1st. Didn't know other houses can cut legacies after preference, they figure they owe them the first round an invite back but that is courtesey and then they can be dropped after the second day
