KD, DDD, and XO are "top" because of tradition. Not much else. They do have some great girls but those few don't make them top.
DG is considered good, but aside from the cheerleaders, they didn't pull through much with this years pledge class.
Phi Mu and Pi Phi come next. Phi Mu has some good girls but not enough to pull them up. Pi Phi had a good rush this year, but they still have some boring upperclassmen who are holding them back.
AOPi may as well be grouped with the next tier down, but they've had a good rush this year and have some good girls.
APhi, ADPi, and Theta are bottom. APhi had a pretty PC this year but they seem to not even have a standards board with the things their new girls are pulling. ADPi and Theta have some great girls too, but nothing will change these two (at least for the foreseeable future) from being in this tier.

These things being said, as cliche as it sounds, go in with an open mind. I'm a sophomore here, and I went into my senior year desperately looking for rankings, so I know how it can be to want one. However, when rush week came, I dropped all of my premonitions. Every house has great attributes, and you'll see that during rush. Some houses you thought you'd love may turn out to be places you could never see yourself fitting in, and vice versa. Just go into rush with the idea of finding the right sisterhood for you and you'll end up where you need to be.

I can tell you my friends and I all really liked tri delt, KD, DG and kkg going through rush... I didn't meet a single girl in chi o that wasn't from Jackson... I didn't care for phi mu, pi phi or aopi... theta girls are really just as odd as they are portrayed here although I know a few are pretty cool.
I liked ADiPi even though they are ranked pretty low and a phi was pretty nice during rush but I don't know anyone who just rushed hoping to get either of these two groups, but the girls I know in their pledge classes are really awesome girls.

basically if you're from MS you want KD Tri Delt & Chi O. Theyre awesome awesome awesome houses and I loved them going through rush but basically everyone know that you have to have MS connections and thats pretty much the only thing separating them from DG Kappa and Phi Mu.

DG Kappa and Phi Mu, in my opinion, usually rush the best girls that didnt go KD Tri Delt or Chi O. They're out of state but usually still southern and their pledges classes are always really solid and the girls are always ecstatic to get them on bid day.

Pi Phi and Aopi come after these generally. They're still awesome houses but usually the girls maybe didn't have all the connections or as strong of resumes or as much money. These are still great houses though

Adpi Theta and A phi come after. they are still good houses bc this is ole miss and we don't have bad sororities. From what i've seen they usually all have a large mix of different girls and there isnt really a set stereotype.

You will know during rush which house you want to run home to!! Best of luck

Don't give too much attention to what you read on here. You could bash every Sorority for some reason or another, but in reality every Sorority has good qualities and every Sorority has weak points. The closer it gets to the next school year you will start to see a lot of bashing, for some reason people thinks that makes their Sorority look better. In reality you will have no choice in your selection, regardless of repeatedly being told to find 'the place you fit' and to 'trust the system'. If you are looking to join a Sorority next year the best thing you can do is keep your grades up and get as many letters of recommendations as possible for each Sorority. Also keep your social media clean. The more connections you have for the Sorority you are interested in is for the better. However, keep an open mind. You might be surprised during Rush. I personally found Tri Delt to be socially awkward during Rush, but they have a stunningly beautiful house. However I am an outside of state student so I didn't have the obsessive worship of the 'top tier' as someone from Mississippi might have. Main thing is keep an open mind.

House legacies and your personal connection with current actives are huge!!!
