oos bids

by: OOS

What's the legitimate odds an out of state northerner(NY) gets a bid in the fall w/o connections? would it just be a waste of time rushing?

there are countless threads about this. please read them.

if you want the short answer: you'll get a bid, to a bottom teir sorority. End of story.

I'm in-state form Jackson and my parents went here, so Ole Miss works out fine for me. If you are OSS, especially some place really far like that, to be honest, I'd look elsewhere. Ole Miss isn't for you and you'll be left out a lot of things.

Unless you frequent the site (like you obviously do) it's not all that easy to find threads. Google doesn't come up with the most relevant threads and GR obviously doesn't have a search function. Save the sass for your Yankee friends

Maybe your parents should teach you some manners and hospitality..........

I disagree with the previous post. Ole Miss's enrollment is majority out of State students which I feel is great as it brings so much diversity to campus. It's a great college!!! Come and go through recruitment. Be part of the majority. Find a sorority that you feel comfortable in belonging. Whatever you pledge it will be a new adventure rather than experiencing your 13th year of high school as some on the in state girls do.

What you're saying makes sense, I didn't make it clear but I'm a guy so I would be rushing a frat if that makes a difference, but I'm curious about the part that im from the north because Ik a lot of oos are still from surrounding states in the south... Not sure if it's just a rumor or its true that most frats want guys that southern. That's the only thing I think is going to hold me back.

If you're really pretty and have amazing grades you'll be a phi mu or kappa if not, definitely a bottom house.

Let's be real here...did you see Phi Mu's pledge class? As is with the sophomore class, there is that one group of girls that is just a total bombshell group, but other than that, I wouldn't even maybe say that Phi Mu is a highly-rated sorority.

More out-of-staters coming to Ole Miss. Get recs for each group.
