Panhellenic is trying to take steps to make all the houses more equal in membership. The retention rates of some houses are significantly different than others causing the number of members in each house to be different. Instead of setting the quota of 160 members per house like the usually do, the houses with the highest number of members get the lowest number of new members this year and vice versa with houses that need more members. For example KD and Chi O gave out 100 bids each and Alpha Phi got to give out 200

Instead of all sororities being able to pledge the same number of new members, their quotas (number they could pledge this year) was determined by their actual size when starting recruitment. The smallest groups were able to pledge the most new members. It was done to bring about parity in size amongst the the sororities.

The problem with quotas in any system is that in the process of trying to be fair the you actually penalize people. The quotas should have been the same for each sorority and let the girls land where they should. This is just another example of libs destroying another tradition.
If this continues with other schools and this becomes the norm then sororities are over as we know it.
