The vast majority of girls will get their first choice today.
You have two choices. Go to the house they listed as their first choice and have a 50% chance of getting it right and getting to watch them run into the mob, or waiting to hear and having a 100% chance of missing seeing them.
Also, the houses get their lists about 10 to 15 minutes before bids are handed about. You might be able to ask at the house if they are on the bid list and head over to the other one if she is not.

Seems like that would be embarrassing for the families who have to leave one house to go to another. Everyone at that house will know that their's either got dropped or not preferred.

There will be dozens, if not hundreds, of adults at some of these houses, not to mention 300-400 girls. Nobody is watching you that closely. This isn't a problem with Panhellenic, it's a problem with you.
Think about it. "Oh my goodness, the woman with the pink floral shirt and the Prada handbag I saw earlier isn't here. Her daughter, bless her heart, must have gotten her second choice. I'm going to ask everybody until I find out who she is and laugh and her and her daughter all night instead of celebrating with mine."
Sound like a likely scenario? Of course not.

You're only standing on the sidewalks, or in the yards of the houses, for the most part. It's no big deal to walk to the other house. My daughter texted us the second she opened the bid and then started running toward the house. So exciting- have a great day with your daughters!
