chi o sister
by: We've heard it all weekIs a sister of an in house sister guaranteed a bid, no matter what her reputation is, there a PNM that's made sure everyone knows her sister is in house, and it's just a fun week of parties for her.

No, she is not guaranteed a bid, but it's unlikely she will be cut. In house sisters, especially in top houses have it tough. Often they are dropped from every other house because the other houses will assume she is going with her legacy house and not want to waste time and precious spots on her. Top houses know this happens and try to protect these girls. In my house, not chi o, the only way for an in house sister to be dropped would be for her sister to tell us to drop her.
Cousins are a different story. We try to make sure they stay on our lists, but they are not considered official legacies and are placed in the lists after the legacies. Those girls had it tough this year. Other houses cut them because of their ties to chi o, but they weren't high enough in chi o's list to survive the deep cuts Panhellenic forced this year.
The politics of rush are hard to understand. Every house is a little different.
