snap bids/rushing as a sophomore

by: Confused

Can someone explain the rules of snap bids? I have one house left but truly feel like I do not belong there. I don't want to drop them if I cannot get a snap bid (even though theres a 1/1000 chance of getting one) but I also don't want to take a bid from someone who might want that house more than me. If I don't get anything, I want to rush again. How does spring rush work? Or should I rush again as a sophomore? Is it harder to rush as a sophomore? And before people get nasty on here, Im not just joining a sorority to join one. It's something I really want to be a part of but I want to be somewhere I feel like I belong. Im willing to work on getting good grades and staying involved in the mean time so that I have a good chance of getting in the house I want if thats what it takes.

Rush this year was brutal. You are not alone in your thinking. My heart broke today for so many girls.

If you drop out, you will be ineligible for snap bids. But honestly those are so rare.

Rushing as a sophomore is even harder. Many sororities have a "once cut, always cut" policy. I've seen girls every year drop and hope for a bid as a sophomore. I'm never seen a successful outcome.

The only thing I can tell you is that there are so many girls in your shoes. I would tell you to get your bid to the house you have left and try it before you drop.

I think tomorrow you will be surprised by the girls in your pledge class.
