where you're seated at a house
by: AnxiousSooo, I've heard it said that where you are seated at a house actually does mean something. Would someone like to elaborate and give some examples?

Most houses rush in rotation. Meaning if you talked to 3 girls, two other PNMs talked to those same 3, just in a different order. If they want you and you're a cheerleader from Georgia, they'll put you in the room assigned to a rush group that has a cheerleader and a girl from Georgia in it. What a coincidence, you have so much in common!! Not really its planned.

We place certain girls in certain seats. Those are normally tip top girls we know we are fighting for or legacies we are worried we could lose to another house. If we know you love us and want us too we aren't as worried about it, but that doesn't mean you aren't a top girl or high on the list. So maybe 5 seats are reserved per party but everyone else just files in in whatever order they happen to walk in. Girls in the very back get bids too.

The thing is, the strategy is different for every house. Some have a few seats, some have it more laid out, some groups just seat you according to who you talked to. Don't read too much into it because it varies. Even if you know how it works for one chapter, the next one you go to could be different.

Not to mention knowing the strategy of each house isn't going to change anything. Just because you know you are in a good or bad position, or that positions don't matter, doesn't change the fact that you are where you are.
