help! dropped!

by: HELP!

My beautiful, talented, smart and precious daughter was completely dropped this morning. This is obviously a huge injustice! Who do I call directly at Greek life to report this and get her reinvited to the houses where she would obviously be a perfect member? Can I donate to the school or do some of the sororities take donations to take girls under the table? Which ones?

I sure do hope this is a joke!

If you are indeed serious, then mom - look in the mirror. You are the reason she didn't receive a bid.

You are very cruel! My daughter is hurting and I need to fix this problem! Your reply was not helpful and was unnecessary! My daughter is ready to leave school now!!! Can you not understand how critical this is to fix?

Mom, please tell me this is a joke!

If you are serious, I'm begging you to get off this website and both you and your daughter into counseling! You've come on an anonymous website looking for help for your hurting daughter???

There are counselors on campus that are there to help her! Not being in a sorority is not the end of the world! There are hundreds of beautiful, talented girls on campus who choose not to go Greek! There are hundreds of organizations and activities on campus for her to get involved with!

Get her off campus this weekend, bring her home for the weekend. Dry her tears and give her the confidence she needs to be successful without the need to belong in a sorority.

Greek life didn't work out! So what! Use this as a teachable moment!

You can't "fix" this. Instead of panicing, be supportive. She could get a COB or she can wait and be available for spring rush to those sororities that did not make quota. Everything happens for a reason and how she/you handles this says a lot about character. Give her a shoulder to cry on and stay positive!

I am not a troll! I am a real mom who is trying to help her devastated daughter! You have no idea how much this hurts a mother to see her precious child so unnecessarily hurt by you hateful noninclusive people! We are thousands of miles away and helpless! It was a HUGE mistake letting her go to your school! She went there because she wanted a strong southern sorority experience but has been kicked in the teeth now. She will be withdrawing and transferring at the end of the semester to find a school with a welcoming attitude. You can have your poor excuse for a college and she will thrive at a better school!

My daughter is down there, over a thousand miles from home and thriving. She was accepted into a house that she loves, a northerner, previously not knowing anyone, yet she made sure she had all her rec's and was prepared for the whole rush process which can be very intimidating and brutal. Mom, sorry it didn't work out for your daughter but for the thousands of girls who it does work for, thought your comments were a bit harsh.
Wish her and you the best!

Treat your daughter by an adult and stop trying to intervene and solve her problems. Just be supportive and compassionate. You are harming her not trying to helicopter in and save the day.
