by: So sad

Question: if you have two houses remaining and you know for CERTAIN that you will not pledge to one of them, what would be the best route at this point?
Thanks!

Still keep an open mind through pref. Be polite to both houses. However, you need to be clear with the house you prefer that they are where you'd like to be on Bid Day. Do not be rude to the house you do not prefer- some of these girls talk and you don't want your rudeness to get to the chapter you like.

I've known girls who've kept an open mind. Some have flopped to prefer the house they swore they'd never pledge. So don't count that chapter out until you are about to sign that bid card.

You can "suicide" if you want (only list a single preference), but you will not be guaranteed your 1st choice home. If you go this route, be prepared to go bidless.

You will also be ineligible for any snap bids IF any are handed out.

It's pretty risky if you goal is to be in a sorority, any sorority. But, keep in mind there are still hundreds of incredible woman on campus who do not chose greek life. I wouldn't advise spending thousands of dollars on a sorority you are going to question and resent.

It is possible... as I saw this happen my senior year as a Gamma Chi... that Panhellenic will encourage girls to suicide in order to continue to bring quota down.

Do not tell a chapter you are planning to suicide if you choose that route. Many actives look poorly upon this and will think how you don't trust the system.
