sorry, but no. it will never be a top tier house because even though it may improve, their history of having a bad reputation will follow them wherever they go. y'all can improve and i sincerely hope you do, but history will make it hard for you to move past the bottom/possibly mid a while from now.

even if theta gets an incredible pledge class, girls will inevitably be unhappy with their reputation and the strange girls that are in there (not all of them are strange, i know many beautiful, smart, funny thetas) they will start to drop. i feel horrible that this happens, but it always does.

that being said, a top tier house is not everything. go to theta and enjoy your time there. take a look around the room and see the girls that are in there with you. they could very well be your new sisters come sunday. every house at this school is awesome, and you should be extremely proud to be a member of one.

No house that isn't the top 3 will ever be top tier but they could definitely do ok, they aren't that bad I don't understand! I'd rather go theta than aopi or adpi

This is exactly how variable quota works. And over a few years, variable quota will continue and the "tier" idea will be gone. Certain houses will be legacies only (for good or bad) and the other houses improve dramatically.

Not "top tier" but stronger.

Here's what you need to know about Ole Miss. Our top chapters, mine included, are full of top girls that everybody wanted...and then full of random legacies that in some cases our alumnae circumvent our own votes to put on our bid lists. It's absolutely about connections. Many of these girls would end up "bottom" at campuses outside of MS.

And then tons of great girls we cut to make room for all these legacies and connections, and they go elsewhere.

Because of this, honestly our chapters are across the board stronger than average than most schools. If Theta gets great girls and those girls stick with it, it will be a really strong, fun house that can and will attract girls from OOS or without connections. If you showed Pi Phi and AOPi instagram pictures to people from other schools, they would guess top tier. And some photos from XO/KD/DG/DDD and they would guess bottom. Theta can get to Pi Phi/AOPi level where it's fun girls that just didn't have the connections. The big name PNMs will ALWAYS go XO/KD/DDD/DG but so will all our randoms.

Plus your friends are from your pledge class anyway, not the older girls.

"Sorry" you are so wrong. The so called top three houses here were definitely not the top three 10 years ago. The perceived ranking on every campus changes. Go ask some older alums. When a chapter is closed by their national organization, they stay off the campus for four years before returning. All you need is to graduate four years of students and then nobody knows/remembers anything. If Theta takes a great group of girls this year, they will be well on their way to great things!
