super worried

by: Mebane67

I have my top house that I want and then three that I just can't really see myself going. I'm worried about pref because I'm scared the lower house might have me higher but I've been told to make sure to tell the house you don't want that you just don't see yourself there so they won't put you higher on their list. Any suggestions? I've been told by friends in my top house that I have nothing to worry about but of course I'm worrying!

If you are okay with not getting a bid at all then go ahead and suicide your top house. Seriously.

That's not how bid matching works.

You can be #1 on your least favorite house's list, and dead last on your first choice, and if there is room in quota for you in your first choice, you'll get a bid there.

There is no "they wanted me more" or "I was higher on their list".

If you end up in your second choice, it's only because your first choice filled up before they got to you.

Don't tell your second choice you don't want to be there. It's just rude and won't affect anything. DO hint in a non desperate way to your top choice that you want to be there on bid day.

OMG. Whomever told you that is completely clueless! Do not be rude and hurt the feelings of these women. Have some class.

You will get your first choice if you are high enough on their list and they get to your name before they make or reach their quota number.

If they reach their quota and your name is left, then you will fall to your second choice. If you absolutely positively don't want to pledge your second choice, then don't list them as an option after preference.
