don"t know what to do

by:

Only have Alpha Phi, Theta, and ADPI left. I put them in my bottom three and got them back. I really loved the other houses and just felt like these were okay... Can't decide whether to drop or take what i get. I was thinking of transfering and if I accept a bid I wouldn't be able to rush at another school in the spring. Any suggestions?

These houses have so much to offer. Don't drop out of recruitment, because your sisters are out there.

Drop out. We 100% do not want you if you don't want us. I love my sisters and my house and there's no room in it for bratty little girls

Pledge now. Make a final decision before initiation. If you decide it isn't for you and decide to transfer, you at least gave it a chance and made some friends!

Also, in addition to helping you have a college experience that will be amazing (and the opportunity to make your chapter be as great as you are), any of these three national sororities will give you an incredible network you can tap into after you graduate for job searches, professional advice, career advancements, etc. If you move to a strange city where you know absolutely no one, there will likely be an alumni chapter for all of these sororities that will welcome you and provide you with new connections. (I say this from experience - yes, I'm one of those "old" women on Greek Rank, a friend of mine's daughter is going through and having a difficult time and mentioned this site, I'm shocked by a lot of what I'm reading but also inspired by some of the more positive comments...)

At any rate, any woman who receives a bid from any chapter at Ole Miss is incredibly lucky and will immediately have a wealth of resources available to her now and throughout her life. Please don't forget that.

Remember that if you transfer there's no guarantee you'd get into any of your "dream" houses at a different college.

I've known girls go through recruitment at schools where it's far less competitive than Ole Miss and many of them got cut from their dream houses there as well.

Good luck with your decision.

I think you've lost perspective. You are attending college for an education. You should be more concerned with diploma letters other than GreekšŸ˜³

It's nearly impossible to rush as a sophomore, and if any chapters do informal recruitment/COB type stuff it'll be these three.

Being Greek at Ole Miss is way better than NOT being Greek at Ole Miss. You can either be in these houses, or no house at all.

Look around you. Half the PNMs will end up in these three houses...your pledge class will be even stronger than the houses are now, and will change things significantly.

If I was to take a bet on any of them, it would be Alpha Phi. They've taken a huge risk taking less numbers to focus on (at least outward) quality, but it may pay off for them. I would not be surprised if they were the favorite of these three. Plus a new house next year.

ADPi has a beautiful new house right now and a fun sisterhood. Theta will grow so much stronger this year and is one of the strongest sororities nationwide.

You can always drop right before initiation. Pledge one, give it your all and actually try to meet people/go to events, and there is no way you won't love it by week three. Swaps, parties, sisterhood events, tailgates in the Grove with your new sisters, our houses are so much stronger than other schools only because you need connections to be "top", and so so many quality girls from OOS end up in the "bottom". At other schools it matters more because it's not about connections, but about whole package from the start.

Where does it say that Alpha Phi will have a house next year? I can't find any information online.

It's a lie. This is obviously a desperate alpha phi trying to make them look good. They're also lying about being "selective" because they're taking the exact same PNMs and numbers as the rest of the bottom houses.

@Yup, why is it a lie about the house? They have the lot near Theta and PiPhi. They also have a pic of the groundbreaking as a header on their website and attached a while back on their FB page? I speak from experience. I did not get my first choice of house and later was so glad I gave the group I joined a chance since it turns out we are a perfect mutual fit.

@not sure. The new APhi House will be by PiPhi and Theta. They broke ground on 4/3 and there is a pic of the ground breaking on their FB website. According to a write up in the Oxford Eagle, it is expected the house will be ready in Fall 2017.

Broke ground yet there's nothing there! Hahahahahahaha. APhi desperation!

APhi renovated an existing house at LSU while they were preparing for their new house. Once they started building the new house, it was completed fairly quickly. The new house is absolutely beautiful. Since they have laid the foundation and started frame out at Ole Miss, there is a good chance the house will be ready in the Fall of 17.

WRONG. If you pledge a group and transfer to another school, you CAN go through Spring/January recruitment. If you stayed here, you could not pledge another group until the next primary/formal recruitment in the fall of 2017.
