NO, Go to what you have left and give them a chance. This year is the worst I have ever seen. Look at who is left and think hard about what you want.

NO, please go and try to remain positive and with an open mind. The cuts have been brutal and you may be so surprised if you keep your mind and heart open.

And this is all new this year and sororities may have over cut and they may be giving snap bids on bid day.

Keep in mind there are a lot of girls that are left to 1 or 2 houses, I think you and I both know which ones those are. But if a lot of really awesome girls decide to take those bids, there will be really good pledge classes. give it a chance!

Your lifelong friends are those in your pledge class! A great group of girls in your pledge class will make all the difference good luck!

Sorry this happened to you. Go back to that house and see if you can connect with anyone. Also, look to see other pnms are at the parties. What do you think of them? Do they seem ok?

Go day-by-day.

In the end - you are much more than a member of a sorority. You will still have a great experience at Ole Miss.

Do what your heart tells you! Do not make a financial obligation to a house where you don't belong. State did this crazy rush and the houses ended up losing a ton of girls that were forced to take bids

Follow your heart. Don't just ledge to say you are Greek

"Tons of girls were forced to take bids." Nobody forces anyone to do anything! After preference each rushee goes back to panhellenic and ranks those groups that she just attended in preferential order or decides not to sign a card. Nobody forces anyone to do anything!

Actually they were told by their gamma chi that they HAD to list both or any houses they pref and then were given bids to a totally different house. It was so sad watching girls cry on bid day because they ended up going to a different house or they just tore up their bid cards..

Also look at Magnolia, Oak and Mosely at State where girls moved out after rush. It was horrible.

Being Greek where you don't belong is ridiculous.

Don't drop, give that one house a chance!

If they drop you before bid day, you will be eligible for a snap bid. I have a feeling we may be seeing quite a few of those this year.

If you are dropped and are not offered a snap bid, there may even be an opportunity for COB or Spring rush.

One house sees something in you and wants to get to know you better! Go! You will regret it if you drop out!

If after you've given a chapter a chance and you hate it, then you can drop!

If she goes to that one house for preference and votes for it at the end, then she will automatically get a bid to that house.

You do not know what you are talking about. There will not be a lot of snap bids. They will do their best to get every chapter to pledge quota. If that is what happens then there will be no snap bids. Only groups who do not pledge quota can snap rushers until they get to quota. And a group doesn't have to snap. They can choose not to. Stop giving people false hope. Snap bids are not a viable way to get pledged.

I feel the need to clarify what a snap bid is. A COB, or snap bid, is ONLY given if a chapter does not make quota. The girl MUST have participated in recruitment but been dropped. To my knowledge she cannot sign a bid card on pref night as that binds her to whatever houses were left on her card. She cannot drop as that removes her from the running- I could be wrong on this point but from being a Gamma Chi that is what I understood. It is extremely risky and not guaranteed. You would have had to have been on some sort of flex list for the house- this means they wanted you but just didn't have enough spots to keep you. And that is why you were released from them.

Stick with what you have left and keep an open mind. It is the best available option. I only ever saw like one house on bid day need to take snap bids- that happened twice out of my four years. The chapters are trying to lower their numbers after all.

A snap bid is given in the window after pref and before bids are handed out (in a "snap") to quickly make quota. A girl that is lucky enough to get a snap bid will think she's been dropped by everyone, then get an offer to accept a bid. No one but the PNM and a few girls at the sorority even know it happened.

COB is "continuous." It can start as soon as bids are handed out until the chapter reaches quota or total. They aren't the same thing. Snap bids are to make quota in a hurry; COB is to reach quota and total and it takes as long as it takes...sometimes all year.

You are incorrect. Anyone who participated in recruitment is eligible to be a snap bid, whether she withdrew or was dropped from the process.

Snap bids are extremely rare. Nobody should consider them as part of their strategy for going Greek.

No. bad advice. If you drop you, you cannot receive a snap bid. Only those girls who are released from recruitment altogether can receive a snap bid.

Pnm's. Ask your gamma chi's. Please don't listen to the advice on this website.

Some is correct and others are wrong wrong wrong.
