And with variable quota this is the best thing to do!! Release girls you know will pledge other houses. It just makes sense!

No one that's having the lower quota is keeping any PNMs they think they will have to fight for and not get. It's the smart thing to do. Do y'all understand how hard it was to cut 1000 PNM's right from the start? Brutal.

Sure, I get that is is smart to cut girls you know you don't have a chance with, but how do you really know that they would be happier in another sorority? How do you know that they have their hearts set somewhere else?

My freshman year, Chi O went around telling everyone that I was for sure going Chi O. Yes, they were in my top four, but there were three other sororities I liked better.

On bid day, people were shocked to see me at a different sorority than Chi O. I literally had people (even moms) approach me saying they were sure I was going to be a Chi O. Thank goodness my first choice sorority chose not to listen to them!

Wouldn't it be fair to let the girls decide rather than cut them early on some hunch?

I'm at a top house at Mississippi state and a lot of houses sadly do this. If we hear from our sources they want DG or know they have been rushed by KD all year, a lot of times we just let them go. Which is sad because it sometimes feels like we're just handing over some of the best girls to the other top houses on a silver platter. This year we took a few risks by keeping some of the top girls who we were told were already going somewhere else and kept them around and then ended up getting them! It's crazy because we almost cut them. You never know ! I'm happy my chapter stopped just assuming where girls were going based on pre rush or "inside sources". I was pre rushed by a certain chapter all my senior year (not knowing this would make all the other houses think I'm not interested in them) and completely fell in love with a different house during rush! I'm happy another house took a chance on me even though it looked from the outside that I was set on the house I was pre rushed by.

It's not just kd cutting rebelettes. DDD has had a stronghold there for years and with the new quota system in place, sororities are not wanting to waste list space on them.

This is completely unfair to the Rebelettes, and unfortunate that we keep handing these girls over to DDD who just loves flaunting them in our faces.

Honestly no one really cares who is on college spirit groups! The fans have a little more to focus on.
