the truth about sororities

Hello dear freshman,

To make it plain and simple, you are all great, smart, interesting girls and anyone who dares to think less of you because of money, family connections, or fashion taste is clearly not someone worth thinking about (those are the type of girls who will spend the rest of their lives as simple housewives with nothing better to do than gossip). No mater how rush goes, keep in mind that you did not come to college for a sorority, you came for a degree. You are more than a pretty face and you should always value yourself. Being in a sorority will not make you perfect, it will not give you a career, it will not change your prospects in life, and it will not make you into something you're not. Remember that it is a priveledge not a right and it is not meant for everyone. If things don't end the way you want them, then that's simply reality. If you're serious about joining a sorority and have fully thought through what that means, use it as an opportunity to mold yourself into a finer woman. Form connections and friendships that will benefit your future. And please keep in mind, this is just four years out of your hopefully long life. You'll still probably be involved with your sorority after college but it won't be like what it is now. You have a lifetime to become who you want to be. it really isn't a big deal where you end up as long as your happy with who you are.
