you will survive recruitment!!!!
by: omrebz
As someone who has already gone through both sides of recruitment, I just want to give you some words of encouragement. Rush is an overwhelming experience, however, what you make of it, is what truly matters.
You are going to visit 11 sororities and meet so many girls. You will repeatedly be asked you major, which residence hall you're living in, and where you're from. You're going to be exhausted, but you must also realize that these girls having been working for this week since rush ended last year. These girls have devoted endless hours of clapping, singing, cheering, and jumping to show you how much they love their sisterhood.
If there is one piece of advice that I can give you, it is to go through recruitment with an open mind. Do not automatically think that one sorority is better than the rest, and that the other is for the "rejects." Never assume that the person next to you in line agrees with your opinions because they may love a house that you don't. Do not assume that you're going to go a certain sorority because you got invited to their philanthropy events and spring parties or because your best friend is an active. Things happen. You can walk into a house and be completely shocked because you fell in love with a sisterhood who you pushed to the side. Be yourself and be happy during this week because at the end of it you get to experience a feeling like no other when you see your name on your favorite sorority's bid car. Enjoy the ride little ones!!!!
