Does anyone know home many members are currently in each sorority?

The numbers I have are from Spring of 2015, so a lot could have changed in the last year, but I have a feeling the numbers are still proportional. (based on last years recruitment numbers and the number of girls choosing to go inactive).

In order of members:

XO - 428
DDD - 405
KD - 400
Pi Phi - 397
Phi Mu - 394
DG - 392
Kappa - 388
AoPi - 384
AdPi - 303
Theta - 269

There was a 125 member difference between XO and Theta. This is largely why we need to have variable quotas.

In the past, chapters were allowed to take quota additions, but they didn't have to if they didn't want to. I know some chapters have been trying to keep their pledge class size down for years now, and have said no to quota additions.

XO is the chapter that is most loyal to their legacies, and that is one of the reasons their number is so much larger than the rest. Theta has been struggling for years, and ADPI would probably have higher numbers if they didn't have so many going inactive or quitting. (or kicked out for grades, but that is what happens when you take grade risks)

I have no clue how variable quota works but in order to even out the sororities, assuming there are 1800 PNM's going through, hypothetically each group would take:

xo - 92
ddd - 114
kd - 119
pi phi - 122
phi mu - 125
dg - 127
kkg - 133
aopi - 135
adpi - 216
theta - 250
aphi - somewhere around 370 (I'm assuming they only gave out 150 bids last year - idk)

There will probably be more ranges than exact number, but this gives you a clue how many girls will end up in Adpi/Theta/Aphi. 33 percent! Compare this to only 18 percent being bid by a top house.

No sorority will take a pledge class of more than 200. Like it's not going to completely equal every sorority, but it will just get them all a little closer in range

If theta has any hopes of continuing, they might need a pledge class of 250. Kind of like a fresh start.

I think what we may see is one quota for xo/ddd/kd/piphi/phimu/dg/kkg/aopi (larger chapters) and a second quota for Adpi/theta/aphi (smaller chapters)

Maybe around 150 for each of the larger chapters and 200 for each of the smaller chapters.

I'm in one of these house and have asked friends in other houses and these numbers are bs. The max a sorority is taking this year is 200 and thats Alpha Pi because they are still colonizing

Nobody knows what quota is going to be yet. There is no way you can say that no sorority wint take over 200 girls.

Quota won't be set until after pref. Anyone who says otherwise is an idiot.

No sorority will give out 250 bids...too large of a pledge class. APhi will have to fill slots to build numbers. Have to see how many make it to pref. Girls will drop as they do every year when they consider themselves above houses remaining on their cards.Larger houses will be forced to make larger cuts. The numbers are probably not right, closer to 400 max. A lot of drops at start of year. Crazy to have such large house totals and pledge classes. Still no way Theta is taking 250 and I doubt APhi would either.

Even 200 girls in a pledge class would be unmanageable! Not to mention the cliques and drama that will occur.

I'm afraid variable quota will fail.

The top houses are thrilled to take smaller pledge classes. The smaller houses (only three) will suffer.

Sororities should be allowed to grow on their own and not forced into it.

1 rush will not make every house magically the same size. But if largest houses take 100-110, middle size take 120-135, and smallest take 145-160 could help even things out little by little.
