legacy
by: MehHow do I properly convey that while I am a legacy for 2 houses I want to have an open mind about rush? It seems like people just assume I will try to go for one of those houses. I don't want to be cut from others because of this.

I would suggest you not have pictures of yourself with any actives from your legacy chapters. If we see those, we will assume you are automatically wanting that chapter.
On the first day of rush, if you have the opportunity, you may want to mention that you are interested in other chapters other than your legacy ones.
If you are a chapter legacy, you might be out of luck. Non-chapter legacies are not viewed the same, and we will usually not assume you are going your legacy chapter.
However, on pref, (maybe even the round before), if you still your legacy chapter and ours, we will assume you will choose your legacy chapter and you won't be as high on our list. Sorry, but we don't want to count on you and have to worry about reaching quota if you don't choose us.
Hopefully if your legacy chapters don't intend to bid you, they will release you after first round. Don't be surprised, it happens. They just want you to have the best chances of landing in a chapter that wants you.
If at pref, you have no intention of accepting a bid from any house other than one of your legacy houses, please let us know! We will be upset if we waste a bid on you that you have no intention of accepting!

I think this person is spot on. You must communicate that you are keeping an open mind. Also, if you get brought back by ,multiple houses you may want to cut the legacy house so others know you are serious

If you go to your legacy's pref, please keep in mind that they may be bound by national rules to put you on their first bid list. If you are a legacy to one of these then only go to pref if you want a bid and don't jerk them around. If your legacy house releases you don't fret.
