legacy (yes you can/will get cut)

by:

girls...dont count on being a legacy. there are so many legacies that a very very large portion of legacies will end up being cut. last year the number of legacies for my specific chapter was larger than our actual pledge class. there is no way that sororities and especially top tier houses can and will keep most legacies. just a fair warning not to get your hopes up

There is a huge difference between chapter legacies and legacies from other schools.

Chapter legacies are given priority. If your mom or grandmother or sister went to another school, you will be treated just like any other pnm.

Maybe for YOUR house. Some sororities still consider grand daughters legacies.

I can't think of a single sorority on campus that "chapter" legacies are not guaranteed bids.

If you are not a chapter legacy, chapters might (depending on the chapter) invite you to the second invitational round, but that's about it. If they don't plan in giving you a bid, you will be dropped before pref.

Cousins & grand daughters are not legacies, but still have advantages.

This has nothing to do with legacies, but for the top houses, if your rec letters are not written by a chapter alumni, it doesn't hold nearly as much weight!
