recs & letters

How many recs/letters is overkill?? Like is it okay to get 1-3 recs and 4-6 letters per house or is that too much?

One rec and 3-4 letters is enough.

Recs from chapter alumni hold way more water than Recs from non-chapter alumni.

Have your letter writers send their letters to your Rec writer. She will mail them all in together along with your pictures, transcripts, resume, etc.

There is some debate on whether or not you should include your transcripts. The only thing it tells us is that you are good to go with your grades and we can confidently recruit you. Otherwise we have to wait for the school to give us your final gpa and by then, we have already filled out bid lists with girls who we already knew had good enough grades.

if the recs have already been sent without transcripts, could you send in separately? Also, can additional letters be sent after rec. has been sent?

Thank you so much!

If we have our final GPA on our resume, do we still need to send in a transcript with our recs? When do the chapters usually get the final transcripts for girls going through?

I wouldn't send in transcripts alone outside of the rec package. Too much opportunity for it to get lost or misplaced.

It's fine to put it on your resume

Your high school will send in your final transcripts to the university. Sometime this summer, or before recruitment begins panhellenic will send you your "official" final GPA. This is the gpa the sororities will be provided. It's up to you to make sure it's correct.

Sororities will get upset and likely drop you if you fudge your gpa on your resume or recruitment application. There is no getting around what the university sends them.

A common question that active's will ask a pmn they are rushing is what their gpa is. They won't want to waste their time or yours if your gpa is too low for their sorority to bid you.
