do you wear shoes in the houses?

by: OOS

I'm from oos and think it's crazy that in some states I've visited it's normal to wear your shoes inside of your house! The houses I've visited in Miss are the same as back home (shoes only on during events) what about the sorority houses? I know it's a stupid question but I'm curious.

There are 400 girls in each sorority. Could you imagine how big a pile of shoes would be if we all took them off every time we walked into our house?

What an odd question.

There are hundreds of girls in a sorority, and a sorority house is not the same as a private residence. take of your shoes when you enter your actual room. Leave them on in the house.

Haha I know it was odd to ask but I'm curious, esp seeing as it's not just a sorority thing it's different state by state. I guess the pile of shoes would make sense but you could just bring them to your room? I do that at home anyways because I'm constantly switching shoes. When you're on the couches and stuff you wear them? Doesn't the house get full of sand? Lol

There are hundreds of girls coming and going at all hours. Meal times are crazy. Only about 40-60 girls live in the house. Most girls do not. It's not as easy as taking them to their rooms.

Sorority houses are just big fancy dormitories. Downstairs would be similar to a lobby, only a 1000 times nicer.

That makes sense. Thanks everyone for responding to my totally random question haha I appreciate it. I just always wondered since some states they were shoes inside at all times, even when on the couch! Where I come from that would be considered super dirty and rude. But it really does make sense in a sorority house.
