real rankings 2016

by:

I saw a ridiculous list with houses out of order and I had to make some serious changes. We know who the top fraternities are, ATO is not in the top 4, nor 5.

Fraternities:
SNU/EX/PDT
KA/KS
------------
ATO/PIKE
SAE/PHI PSI
SP/BETA
Everyone else...

Sororities:
KD/XO/DDD
Kappa/PM/ DG
PBP/AOPi/ADPi
APHI
THETA

Where can you find this official list? Does the IFC keep these records?

There is a list with statistics of the most "exclusive" (high return rates) from recruitment. They typically line up with rankings that are accepted on campus.

Since you have the order in the first two sorority tiers backwards, I guess we are to assume there is no order within the tiers.

I know a little bit about the tiers at Ole Miss and quite honestly, makes me sad. The reason why Theta always gets such a bad rap is because they were actually the first sorority to admit an African American-which I think is something to be extremely proud of. Many of the top tier sororities would never think to do that and I suppose never will. The reason I really like them is because they really are inclusive and take people based on more than just looks. They look more at the person themselves and what they can bring and offer to the sorority as whole. To me, that means so much than just superficial good looks and grades.

That's really amazing! Bravo Theta. I don't go to your school (thank God) but I can imagine that took a WHOLE lot of courage!! Shame on anyone who tries to keep you down for that reason. Without this kind of bravery Mississippi will be stuck in its treacherous past forever. Do you know what year this occurred?

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I do not know the exact year but safe to say it was a few years back. They were first ones to pledge minority and thus began their reputation as a low tier- I just think that is so sad. We have come so far in our national history but apparently not quite far enough. For most part, many of the girls are treated very well and accepted but on the inside some things just don't change.

theta gets a bad rap because they take all the rejects or people that get cut from everything else. y'all are weird af and also one of the most expensive houses on campus

Sigma Nu, Phi Delt, Sigma Chi and KA are in their own league.

That's just the truth. Top of the top.

Nice try KA. You suck. The south has moved past your views. You had a good run but it's over. Sorry

Sigma Nu, Phi Delt and Sig

Most money, prestigious alumns, dominant in southern politics and I don't see the that changing any time soon

You don't see things changing with EX? You don't think that without a pledge class and social for next year it won't change things? I see things changing for them rather quickly.

You think a pledge class is going to make them fall off top tier? It might damage their reputation but it won't be that drastic.

Yes, I believe not having a pledge class is a huge deal and will have a negative effect for several years. It will also impact them financially. Missing a class creates a negative of about $500,000 per year in loss of dues, food bills, social dues, ect.

The only financial loss would be in their house fees.

No loss on food fees as they will only buy enough food for those who are paying dues.

No loss on social fees when they aren't going to be hosting any social events. Here they will actually be saving money.

Don't worry about financial loss. Sigma chi has some of the richest active's on campus and a strong alumni base.

How do you know they have the most money? Is that reported somewhere? Strong in southern politics? We see how that's working out.

I don't care how much money you have a $500,000 loss of dues etc. Is going to hurt. It will also be for 4 years so you could say 2 million loss is a big deal. As far as the food cost there is much more associated with that than just the food. You still have delivery fees, cooks, staff insurance etc. Those are fixed cost and will remain the same . It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 100 people you will pay that fixed cost. So yeah it is a big deal and last time I checked it is not the actives that are rich but maybe their parents and not all of them will be willing to shell out the dough to make up the difference.

There is a huge difference between being on probation and not being able to have a pledge class.

Wow! Your numbers are so far off its laughable!

One pledge class has about 65 guys. Fraternities pay far less in dues than sororities do, maybe about $500 a year. With no socials, there will be no social fees. As far as food. Less guys to feed means less food deliveries, less staff, etc. it will be a wash.

Financially, there alumni will make up for any loss they suffer.

Quit trying to pretend you know anything about this?

Sigma chi will be fine!

Laughable? Maybe they don't teach simple math in early childhood education but you are sadly mistaken. Why don't you stick to sorority business as you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Since when did EX take a pc of 65? More like 75-85. Dues, social, food, insurance, staff etc is $6000 a year. 80x$6000 is $480,000. Missing those dues paying members for 4 years is $1,920,000.

The fixed cost of insurance, housemother, cooks, food etc. Will not go away just because you are missing a pledge class. I bet the EX house board is not fine with it!

Clearly you don't know what your talking about. You need to stick with your rush team responsibilities and leave finances to the big girls.
