mad at aopi

by:

Honestly I'm a little mad at aopi for allowing their one sister to speak for all of us!

Not all women are as uptight.

Some girls just love the attention they get from starting drama. This girl is no exception.

Why don't you write an opinion piece about why it is funny and okay to objectify women and include your real name? Or are you scared to do that because you know you're wrong?

It's all the women's fault. They MADE those SX's say those things. SX should not be held accountable in any way for something they just couldn't help themselves from doing. So unfair to those poor boys...

Leave it to a bunch of naïve college girls to get all worked up over something as little as this!

I have been in the workforce now for ten years. Let me enlighten you to reality.

Many of you girls will choose careers in male dominated environments. Men will be promoted more often, earn higher pay for equal work, and will constantly catch you off guard with crude jokes Sure you can complain to your supervisor, but the "boys club" will prevail.

Why? Because they know that when the time come to have children you will either quit your job or be less productive at work. Children get sick, emergencies happen, and you will miss work for them. You won't be able to work late and men will eventually earn the promotion you were working towards.

Sorry if the truth hurts!

A strong woman will learn how to respond to a crude joke with class and dignity. They will not wine about it on social media.

Mark my words!

That's a joke right? I'm in a committed relationship so don't lump me in like that. And if you were a queen candidate they would have said inappropriate things to you as well! Which hopefully starting next year they will ask you questions worth your time and not degrading.

The girls signing up to be queens are well aware that EX will be asking questions like that and that they're doing it because it's what they do and it's nothing personal. Queens don't take it seriously because it's done to everyone, people should take that into consideration it's a jokeeeee

I heard there was a bunch of DG's, Aopi's and other girls in other sororities that secretly wrote letters to Sigma Chi National this past week. They were handwritten so they could not be tracked over email. Think a DG spearheaded the letter writing campaign in her dorm.

What was the writing campaign about? Against EX? Or in support?

Of course EX National knew about this. They weren't writing to tell them about it they were writing in support or against EX.

Which is it? Were the girls writing in support or against EX???

AOII didn't let one girl speak out for the entire chapter. Their statement clearly says that they respect all of the opinions of all of their members. I respect that all of their members are allowed to be vocal and talk about their different opinions, and i wish my chapter had let us do the same.

By: Don't blame one girl
by: Truth

My chapter didn't tell us not to be vocal, but they did encourage us to wait until chapter before making any statements.

We all agreed to stand together as sisters rather than speak out as individuals. We all have friends in sigma chi. We hate the idea that an entire fraternity is being judged based this one incident.

Abby Bruce was wrong to condemn the entire fraternity. Especially when the incident involved a charitable component that was important. A better way to have handled the situation would have been for her and perhaps her sorority as a whole to set up a meeting with sigma chi to discuss privately!

The fraternity men in sigma chi are our friends, brothers, and classmates, not all are disrespectful!

I agree that not all EX's are disrespectful. However these comments were not like a crude joke made by a couple of guys in a dorm rec room. This was a campus wide event with sorority girls, parents, representatives from Blair E Batson Hospital and the University in attendence.

This was a EX event, their philanthropy no less. It was not just one comment but several comments that continued throughout the 2 hour event. So YES, the EX chapter should be judged by the actions of a few. Shame on the respectful guys that did nothing to stop this. Shame on the EX alumni that was present and allowed this type of behavior to continue.

I don't think they were being judgemental. Judgement for SX action rests on the student judicial system, Title 9 rep, and SX National... it doesn't look good for SX.

I don't know why a fraternity that has been allowed to ask these types of questions since the 1970's would suddenly lose their charter.

Given that this was a private philothropic event held off campus with no financial assistance from the university, I fail to see why the university would be involved in any discipline.

My mother attended ole miss in the 1980's and the same type of questions were asked then.

Perhaps it's time to put an end to the questions, and perhaps it's time to put an end to being so Judgemental. \n\n\n\n\n
