by: QuestionI am currently a freshman at a large midwest university and am interested in transferring to Ole Miss in the fall and was interested about my chances of getting a bid as a sophomore transfer. I am not currently in a sorority, however, I did go through a few days of rush here but dropped because I really was not feeling a connection with any of the houses. I really want to give Greek life another shot, though. My GPA at the time of enrollment at Ole Miss should be roughly a 2.2-2.4, I believe and I am involved n various EC activities here. I can get letters of rec from alumni of other campuses, but not Ole Miss. Does that matter? I would like to know what my chances of getting a bid would be! thank you

Question: Why would you add on sororities when you already clearly cant keep up ur grades? I think you need a priority check but no house is going to take you with a 2.2 or 2.5 or 2.6 or 2.7. If you were a truly amazing PNM some houses (bottom houses) would maybe take you with a 2.8 or 2.9, but a Midwestern sophomore girl with bad grades, no connections, and mediocre involvement is going to get dropped the first round by every single house. The only thing you can do is work on your grades and rush junior year but by then you have about the same chance as a sophomore with bad grades. If you want to be involved in Greek life the best bet would stay at your current school and get your grades up and then get a COB bid from a sorority second semester of ur sophomore year. If you didn't get good houses at the last school you were at though there is zero chance for you here.

Whew! That's better, but without connections half the sororities will drop you after first round.
Pi phi, adpi, theta, adpi, and aphi will probably be your best bets! All great sororities! Adpi has a new house and aphi will soon enough. Pi phi is known for having fun girls, aopi is known for taking oos girls, and theta and adpi really need help in the grades department. You could be beneficial to them.

This is college, not high school and I'm in a very rigorous major. 4.0's are not as common in college as they are in high school. I get it's not stellar but it's by no means a MISERABLE gpa.
