non-sec transfer
by: abcdefghijklmnop...I am a senior and chose to go to a midwestern school... If I end up wanting to transfer to ole miss or alabama (etc) how would it work? I don't want to go there anymore and it seems just a bit late in the game to change... Is spring rush as a freshman a good idea if I were to transfer between semesters? Should I wait until sophomore year fall? Or if I am in a house that ole miss happens to have how would affiliating work? I just forgot how much I love the school :)

Follow your heart-NOW. Don't go to another school you don't want to go to, just because you think it's too late to change; you'll be miserable. Assuming that you have the requisite GPA and ACT scores, start the application process to Ole Miss tomorrow and see what happens.. The admissions office is really helpful. In the meantime, start asking friends and family for recs to Ole Miss sororities. It's only April. Lots of people apply late and get in. Good luck!

You are a senior still in high school, right? Why would you start at a school that you don't want to go to and go through the headache of transferring? Contact Ole Miss Admissions ASAP, get admitted there and start as a freshman.
NO, spring informal rush is not usually the best idea. Only a few of the chapters will have a spring pledge class.
