Can you go through formal recruitment if you're transferring after first semester?

Only if you sign up by the deadline which was October 31 this year.

i don't think so.. you need to be enrolled in IU which you technically won't be until second semester.

You need to be enrolled as a student so you will have to wait. I believe all houses would accept GPA from prior studies in college (and hs is also a generally good guideline).

If OP is transferring 2nd semester chances are she didn't get into IU and is going to CC first. Which isn't fair to the girls that go here and work hard for their first semester grades and this girl comes in with her CC gpa.

How would GPA work? If this girl transferred with a 2.8 from a community college for example that doesn't really compare with a 2.8 from here.

You could but you would need to contact Panhel before the cut off date. They can help you get everything set up from there.

Yes, you can OP. A freshman girl transferred from IUPUI at semester break and did go through recruitment at IU. She contacted Panhel and was able to register for recruitment. She did get a bid from a pretty good chapter, but she had high school connections to several chapters and a good GPA.
