as a junior

Is it possible to join a sorority next year in the fall informally as a junior. I've heard unhoused sororities tend to do fall informal.

If you're ok with an unhoused DPhiE and SK are recruiting now. Check them out. There is no guarantee of fall informal. Last yeat it was just DPhiE and ASA.

Personal issues would prevent me from commuting to a sorority this semester.

Informal in the fall is next to unheard of. I've never heard of a junior pledging. Perhaps focus on other organizations or possibly a professional fraternity

Are you going to have the same personal issues next semester?

If there's a sorority you're interested in, your best bet is to start getting to know the members now.
