I didn't ask cause I felt like that might not be appropriate... Like maybe they would think I'd only want to join if they had a house u kno?

It's legit to ask them what their current housing situation is.

If they were close to getting a house, they would be showing off drawings of the house. There would be a sign in the lot "future home of TPA". It takes three years once the chapter has the down payment for the lot. They are at least three years away. UNLESS they can get short term lease on Phi Psi or Pi Kapps, or whoever else gets kicked off during little 5

Ok thank you. I just heard they were closest out of all unhoused to getting a house.

Their tiny national will never have the money needed for a house.

They have an apartment complex for seniors with a multi year lease. That's their housing.

Sophs, juniors and seniors live there. Just not Freshmen

The only unhoused chapter that will be getting a house in the next 3-5 years is SK. At their presentation they announced they had worked out a deal with IU to start the process as soon as they initiate their new girls.

They'd like to but it's not a done deal. They have to prove viable for at least 3 years. Women who pledge next semester won't live in a house.

SK is the only one that has the financial strength to build a competitive house. They are a much larger and stronger national sorority than the others. Plus they committed to a house. If I only had unhoused sororities left, I would not take a bid and go with SK.

Sk is not that large or strong compared to the strong IU houses. They mainly have small chapters at smaller schools and a few bigger like Purdue but not a lot.

IU is not giving them land to build a house until they are 3 years viable at least. The land is too valuable.

Go away Sig Kap. The unhoused chapters are at some larger schools not. Not very familiar with TPA but DPhiE has chapters at UF, UGA, Michigan, Maryland, MIT, Miami, NYU, etc and ASA has chapters at Delaware, ISU and more.

It is TPAs goal to get a house, just as it is the goal of other unhoused chapters

I go to another school in the midwest but not IU. What's preventing the unhoused sororities from buying a house? Lack of housing options?
