Are you kidding? They barely take-out of-town members! If you aren't from an up-scale Indy high school or maybe a north-Chicago suburb forget it.
This is the reason they aren't as highly-regarded as they used to be. Other groups have embraced IU's national presence and included a good cross-section in their pledge classes. Fiji is inbred and, frankly, a little boring and stale.
While still a good house with lots of involvement and considered popular, IU Fiji is sadly pigeonholed and for that reason is not as vibrant or popular as it once was when IU was mostly an in-state school.

Fiji is big in their own minds but in reality they are a good ole boys club.

Fijis Rush process is done the way it is due to the fact that they are allowed to have freshmen live in their house at the start of the school year.

Fiji has been insular as to whom they recruit; to be honest, they've been this way for decades. So naturally, unless you're from an upscale Indy HS, an upscale area in the Indy suburbs or from another recruitment pool area where Fiji excels at selecting NMs, forget it. No wonder why Fiji isn't as relevant as they used to be at IU.

Did you go to Carmel, Cathedral, Chatard, Fishers, HSE, or Bloomington South? Then no you will not get a bid

Does anyone know why Fiji has become less relevant at IU lately? It comes down to the narrow/limited scope/criteria by which they recruit new members. Rather than have a good cross-section of men like other Fiji chapters do, the Fijis at IU are complete clones: They all went to the same high schools, their dads/grandpas/brothers were in Fiji, they have the same social statuses, they're label fashionistas, etc. If Fiji wants to be relevant at IU again, they need to change their tune with their recruiting processes.

Fiji is becoming irrelevant because they are inbred. A girl can only take so much of that.
