advice? is this normal?

I can only do this because it's anonymous but I'd really like your opinions b/c unfortunately I can't ask my chapter unless I want to be brought to standards for questioning chapter authority. Are your organization's committees such as nom com, standards, etc mini-dictatorships? In my organization, they like to send you"anonymous" emails criticizing & attacking members and trying to act like they are working in the best interest of the chapter, but they are really mean-spirited and not proactive at all. The worst is many are run by members who say all the right things in public, but behind closed doors are sending out messages of what you are doing wrong or what's wrong with you and shutting you down from giving any real feedback and then hide behind the "committee." Nom com keeps nominating slates of their friends and does not interview candidates. WTF? Who does that? If you want to be on nom com-yes it's a lot of work! Do it right. They allegedly take "anonymous" feedback from members,but you are not told what it said or able to explain or deny any allegations. You are only told you are not being nominated because of it.I work really hard to be a positive member in my organization & on campus. I am involved and hold mid to high level position in campus organizations. I'm so excited for our seniors to go-they are control-freaks, seriously buzz-kills and apparently never ever made a mistake. They threaten people not to speak with Nationals about anything w/o their approval.
