unhoused fraternities
by: FreshmanHey guys. I rushed a few housed fraternities this fall, and none of them ended up working out. I honestly want to join a fraternity for the brotherhood, so while it would be cool, I don't see a house as a necessity. However, while rushing, I did not look into any unhoused. What is your opinion on DeltaSig, Pike, etc?

Pike seems like the "frattiest" of all the unhoused fraternities. I've only really had interaction with Pike and Alpha Sigma, but as far as brotherhood goes the seemed tight. The people that rush those groups either want to join a frat for the brotherhood more than the parties or they want something to put on their resume. Go meet the unhoused frats and try to figure out whether it's a resume booster or a tight brotherhood.

I don't know what is more pathetic - a guy in a top tier house taking time to socially denigrate a fraternity he knows nothing about or a guy in a mid or low tier house who knows that the guys in the unhoused fraternities are pretty much the same as them.
I mean you look at groups that recruit majority legacies and guys from their high schools and you know the average guy does not have a place there, but they find their place and all you can do is criticize and make fun of. Instead of constantly jockeying in the pathetic social hierarchy that is our Greek Life, enjoy your experience and let others enjoy theirs.
